Flat or 2D needle felting is a beginner-friendly fiber art technique, often called "painting with wool" where wool roving is locked onto a felt fabric base using barbed needles. It involves layering, stabbing and blending colored wool to create flat, painterly or textured images like landscapes and portraits. In class we will be creating an underwater scene complete with a coral reef and colorful fish all framed in an embroidery hoop.
