Teach for Community Education
Thank you for your interest in teaching for us! Community Education at Sierra College offers short, not-for-credit workshop or seminar style classes designed to meet the needs and address the interests of our community. If you have a skill, talent or knowledge you would like to share and you have developed a course, then we would like to hear from you. Previous teaching experience or formal academic training is a plus, but not necessarily required. We seek presenters possessing subject mastery, passion about their field, and the ability to communicate clearly. Most of our instructors are community members who enjoy sharing their expertise with fellow community members!
To get started, please review the Information for Prospective Instructors and complete a New Course Proposal form submitted directly online (our preferred method). In addition to the course proposal, please email your resume/teaching vitae and copy of any student materials to be supplied for a fee (if applicable) to communityed@sierracollege.edu. To be considered, please be sure to complete all requested information so that your proposal package is complete. If you have any technical issues filling out the form, please email us. Proposal Deadlines: Fall (classes September through December 15) - Due March 15th Spring (classes late January through May) - Due September 1st Please contact us directly if you are interested in summer, we offer a smaller, more focused program schedule. The planning/scheduling process takes months. If your proposal meets our current need, you will be contacted by email or phone. In the event your proposal is not accepted for the current season, it does not mean it won't be considered for in the future. We keep proposals on file for several seasons. |
