Renewing Notaries

This state approved three-hour course is the easiest and fastest way to satisfy the education requirements for renewing your notary commission. Fee includes guidebook ($35 value), notary application and Proof of Completion for the class needed to take the exam. The notary exam will be held same day from 5-6pm. Exam seating is limited and will be assigned to students registered for the in-person class first. Exam materials: $40 check payable to “Secretary of State,” proper ID—current driver’s license with photo or state issued ID card, two #2 pencils. Fingerprints required after you pass the exam.

Please bring the following items required to take the exam:
  • Secretary of State Notary Exam Application (provided in class)
  • State-issued driver’s license or ID, Canadian/Mexican driver’s license, passport, or U.S. military ID Card
  • 2x2 color passport-type photo
  • Proof of completion (issued after class)
  • $40 check or money order payable to the Secretary of State
  • #2 pencil

  • Must be 18+ years of age. LiveScan fingerprints are required to become a notary. Serious convictions may disqualify an applicant. Exam will be held after class from 5:00-6:00pm.
